The importance of your business’ presence on Google, Google Maps, and Google+ is beyond doubt and it is equally important for Google. However, you have to understand that it is equally important to keep those pages healthy. To keep all your pages healthy all you have to do is sign in to your Business account via your Google places or to your Google+ and upgrade your pages. Here are some tips and tricks to make your local Google pages healthy.
Hide your addresses if you do not have storefront
In case you are in the business of providing services to your customers on site and don’t have a physical store then it makes sense that you hide your business address. This is to avoid the embarrassment you might face if a customer, after reading your address, decides to visit you and conduct business. In such a situation, where you operate a service without a store, you can use Google Places and hide your address.
Address formatting
If you receive mails to your physical address then instead of having a complete address you should put a mail box number on the second line of your Google Places. Your address is likely to look reformatted on Google Maps but this is an important step you need to take. All you need is an address and mailbox number.
Real location and phone number
Google does not accept UPS stores or P.O. boxes as addresses even if you have been receiving your mail in this fashion for all these years. You have to input your actual location in Google Places and hide your address by specifying general area of service in the Google Places for Business Dashboard. However, the location should have the presence of your staff during business hours.
Spelling and miscellany
Do not use special characters in your text. Keep it to standard alphabets if your listing is in English. Also make it a point that you do not include any URLs in your title. You can do that only if it is the actual name of your business.
Multiple Businesses
Managing multiple businesses is great but you should be alert to keep all your listings in compliance with guidelines. It makes sense if you review the quality guidelines and then make an assessment to see if you fulfill all the guidelines. What your customer sees is dependent on what is listed.
These are just some of the things you should be aware of to have healthy local Google+ pages.
