Facebook users that have been using Graph Search will now be able to view Bing powered web results along with Facebook search results. This feature is the result of joint efforts between Bing and Facebook engineers to deliver a combined search experience. This feature will be soon available to all Facebook members in coming times.

Once a user conducts an internet search on Facebook, he or she will be able to view 2 columns in which Bing results will be displayed on the left side along with social data extracted from Facebook that includes information on how many other people liked that result. In addition, the right side of the screen will display Facebook content along with related apps.

However, at the top of Bing results are displayed Sponsored results, which in effect could mean that Bing advertisements could very well feature on Facebook searches. This could indeed be good news for Bing since the company has not managed to penetrate the market in a way that rival Google has. Even though Bing has cornered around 25 percent of searches in the USA, it is still way behind Google.

Bing does lag behind in terms of distribution for its ads and this tie-up with Facebook could enable the company and its advertisers to display information to a large number of Facebook members. Facebook witnesses around a Billion searches on a daily basis, which could certainly prove to be beneficial to Bing and its advertisers.

Bing will display the above results whenever Graph Search cannot provide search results typed in by a Facebook member or in case a member requests results from Bing and Facebook. However, the process will be completely clear only when this feature is actually implemented for all users in the near future.

Bing advertisers will certainly keep an eagle eye on these latest developments since they could take advantage of a ready database once this feature is launched globally. Facebook users too will be able to witness improved and wider search results once the combined Bing and Facebook results are displayed on their screens.
