This time we thought to share some useful and important update from Google regarding the quality of search results. Google takes automated and manual actions against sites that violate the webmaster guidelines.
Webmaster Guidelines:
The Google Webmaster Guidelines outline the official best practices for website owners that want their site to be appeared and indexed by Google. If you follow Webmaster guidelines it will help Google to find, index and rank your website properly. Basically there are three types of guidelines suggested by Google. – Design and content guidelines
– Technical guidelines
– Quality guidelines
From the above three guidelines Google strongly recommends to implement Quality guidelines which summarize some of the unlawful practices that may lead to removal of site from Google index or may be impacted by algorithms or manual spam actions. If the site is affected by manual spam actions, it may not reflect in the search results on Google pages.
Manual Actions:
Google constantly updates its algorithm to evaluate and improve search results. However, Google search team takes manual actions on websites that use unethical or spammy content. These manual actions include demoting or removing the website from search results. So be very specific while editing content on your website. If you site has been affected by manual actions, Google will notify you in the message center in search console. If your website is not visible in the search results then you should check manual actions report and take required steps to resolve the problem.
There are two types of manual actions displayed on Manual Actions page.
1) The Site-wide matches section depicts actions that impact an entire site.
2) The Partial matches section depicts actions that impact individual URLs or sections of a site.
If your site has been affected by manual actions then you can check in Manual Actions page in search console and identify on which part of your site the action was taken. After resolving the issue, send reconsideration request to Google. Google search quality team constantly helps protect users by removing spam from search results.
